The 11th Mission - Chapter 2 - A Flashback - Part 1

 

                                                                 

A Flashback 

A bit of turbulence came in the flight, causing Andrea's pensiveness about stealing the pearls to be disturbed. She looked around and saw an old man that looked wealthy, he started complaining about the turbulence, he was about to get out of his seat when an air hostess came rushing, "Sir please stay in your seat, the turbulence may harm you, please cooperate, I will attend to your problems when you are seated and safe" She said trying to make him understand with gesticulations. "And you, don't move a muscle" She said turning her head towards Andrea. Andrea was frightened and astonished, suddenly she went into a flashback, to one of her failed missions. She was on her third operation. She was being held captive in an empty airplane, she didn't know that the person she was stealing from was actually the owner of the company in a disguise trying to hide from the paparazzi. She was supposed to steal Charles Ellison's passport and needed his signature which she can get access through his passport, (Charles is a rich businessman about to make a purchase of rare gold and diamond jewellery from the 17th century)  once they get the signature it can be forged on the document and Miss Cordelia can get them instead "Oh, I'm so miserable, I don't have any jewellery to wear!" Exclaimed Miss Cordelia dramatically in her English accent "Well since your so desperate for an operation miss Addington, get me some jewellery, the 17th century one, go to London City Airport and bait and switch Charles Ellison's passport, take a picture, we shall scan the signature and forge it on the document and don't you do anything wrong, for I'm longing for new jewellery. The one that I bought a week ago is getting old. Now what are you looking at? Go get me my jewellery!" Ordered Miss Cordelia, Andrea had been given a mission which she was not at all desperate for, she hated stealing for miss Cordelia, the other professors would only ask agents to steal for the agency, not for their own satisfaction. Miss Cordelia  went stomping her high clanking heels  ordering another agent for another operation which wasn't at all necessary, everyone could hear what she speaks because she always orders agents in her loud English accent, this time she was ordering an agent to steal Deviled Eggs with edible Gold sprinkled on it. "She should be mortified to risk someone's lives just for deviled eggs, why can't she just eat an omellete!" Mumbled Andrea. Andrea then went to the London City Airport  "Did you see how Miss Cordelia doesn't even care if she's risking lives for such worthless things that shouldn't even be kept in a high security locker? Deviled eggs, seriously?" Protested Andrea walking up to the scanner device, "Relax, we don't have a choice and we're not supposed steal Deviled Eggs, let's just focus on our mission" Said Alexander trying to persuade Andrea, "Phew, okay" said Andrea sighing after successfully being scanned. She then went in the TSA security queue, "Rea you'll have to show your boarding pass and your passport" Explained Alex "What?! But I don't have a Boarding Pass or a Passport" Panicked Andrea entering the TSA Security queue, "Check your new coat pocket, Miss Cordelia told me to book a flight for you, sorry to tell you, your new coat wasn't a reward, it was for this mission, I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to feel bad" Said Alex, "Okay, looking for Boarding pass and Passport... looking.... Found it! Thanks Alex" Said Andrea. "Good,anyways, your in the TSA security queue right now right?" Questioned Alex "Yes, speak faster, my turn is almost coming" Replied Andrea, "Okay, I just hacked into the security cameras, right ahead of you in the queue is Charles Ellison, I've disabled the security camera that's on your left as Charles's Passport is in his left coat pocket, you've to use the bait and switch technique, in your right pocket you will find another fake passport that looks exactly like Charles's, exchange his passport with the fake one and mission accomplished!" Exclaimed Alexander in haste "That easy? Piece of cake" Said Andrea still waiting in the line " I saw the list of flights boarding today, I've booked a flight for you, don't get on the flight obviously, say you had to cancel it for an emergency" Said Alex patiently. "You have to switch now, his turn is coming!" Exclaimed Alexander.  Andrea took a deep breath and took out her cold and shivering hand out of her pocket reaching for Charles's, for a moment Charles started moving around and checking how long the line is, Andrea panicked and meekly put her hand back noiselessly. Charles finally stopped his restlessness and patiently waited for his turn, Andrea exhaled the cold air and went to look for the fake passport in her pocket, "Found it" She said under her breath, she then reached out to Charles's furry coat pocket with her skinny and quivering hand holding the fake passport, she tried her best to not let the other passengers see her by shifting more to the left and hiding her hand. She finally could feel the soft fur, she then took out her left hand, then she took out his passport, but while switching it with the fake one he turned around and took hold of her hand "Oh no!" Exclaimed Andrea under her breath when Charles looked her in the eye, "A thief! A thief!"Shouted Charles, all his body guards gathered, Charles persuaded the Airport security to let him handle this and one of his stern and strong bodyguards named Oscar held her arms and  pulled her towards one of the flights. "Andrea? Andrea! Are you there? What happened?" Questioned Alexander anxiously, "Not now Alex, Mission failed, they caught me" Replied Andrea. The plane was still being cleaned, when they were entering it one cleaner said "I'm sorry sir but this is still being cleaned" The bodyguard pushed him aside without saying anything, Andrea was frightened and scared, for this was her first failed operation, the bodyguard shoved her inside the plane and tied her to a seat, there was another bodyguard outside keeping guard. Oscar gave her chloroform. When she regained consciousness she felt reeling, she saw Charles entering the plane, Charles started catechizing her, "Who do you work for?'' Asked Charles "No one" Replied Andrea for she was not allowed to disclose the agency's name, "So you steal for yourself?" Questioned Charles, "Yes" Was Andrea's answer, "Why did you want my passport?" Interrogated Charles, but before Andrea could reply they heard a big thud outside, Charles and Andrea turned to look outside, "Oscar, go and see what happened, I'll follow you" Ordered Charles, Oscar nodded and went outside, "And you, don''t move a muscle" Said Charles walking behind the bodyguard. They both went outside to see, Andrea pushed up one of the half - open airplane windows with the help of her head and said "Thank god"
